u-blox has announced a new firmware image (FW6.00) for their
ublox5-receivers.
LEA-5T will provide raw data output too.

Is there any new GPS manufacturer providing low cost receivers with
raw data output?

I know only about u-blox (LEA-4T/5T), magellan (DG14 - even if it is
not so low cost...) and some fastrax receivers (not sure about these).

By the way, has anyone tried out Fastrax's software GPS? It seems very
interesting:

This is bad news.

3 Limitations
Raw data output rate
Raw data output cannot be configured at a different rate than the position
fix rate.
Therefore the maximum update rate is limited to 2Hz

today i ve seen ( http://gpspp.sakura.ne.jp/diary200908.htm ) ublox answer
to the problems with the LEA-5T FW6.00 , when it comes to ambiguity fixing.

I would not like to depend on an Online-Translator ;-) , so could you please
repeat ublox statement in English?

The problem is also pointed out by other users.
Our R&D section has investigated it and found that
it is due to the LEA-5T FW 6.00 bug.
By updating the FW, we can improve the
observables as well as LEA-4T FW 5.00. Although,
the schedule of the FW update can not be specified
at this moment.
We will confirm the schedule and inform you later.
